Rufus Andre Brown Jr.

Rufus Andre Brown aka Andre was born on January 1, 1979, to Rufus Andre Brown Sr. and Juanita Delores Whitley Brown in Winchester, Virginia. He departed this life on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Riverside Regional Medical Center, in Newport News, Virginia.

Andre attended the Martin County Primary and Middle Schools in Williamston, North Carolina until 1992. After leaving North Carolina he attended James Wood Middle School in Frederick’s County, Virginia. He graduated from John Handley High School in Winchester, Virginia. In 2001 he attended and graduated with his Bachelor Degree in Political Science from Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia. In 2004 he continued his education at Virginia State University to obtain his master's degree.

Andre was a loving father to Andre Isaiah/Mehkei, a dear brother to his sister and a wonderful nephew to many. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved stepping with his fraternity brothers. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity of Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia.

Andre joined Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. After residing in Newport News, Virginia he began to fellowship with Second Baptist Church East End.

Through Andre’s passion for others he founded Positive Intervention Services in 2009. Andre was also employed with Serenity C & C beginning in 2012 until his passing.

Andre leaves to cherish his memories, his son of the home, Andre Isaiah/Mehkei Brown, Two Guardian children, Sean Moore & Kevin Atmentler, his father, Rufus Brown, Sr., his mother, Juanita Brown, his sister, Shenita Andrea Brown all of Newport News, Virginia, a Step-Grandmother, Geraldine Brown of Williamston, North Carolina, Eleven Aunts, Doris Grandy & Jocelyn Leary ( James) of Williamston, N. C. , Eva Daniels & Sandra Whitley, of Washington, D.C.,  Florence  Reddick  of Takoma Park, Maryland, Delores Jones of Williamston, North Carolina, Cynthia Mills of Raleigh, North Carolina, Michelle Smaw of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Beverlyn Brown & Sherie Boles of Greenville, North Carolina, Regina(Gerald) Posey of Clinton, Maryland, Seven Uncles, Lynwood Whitley Jr. of New Haven, Connecticut, William Clyde Brown(Cynthia) of Clearbrook, Virginia, Randolph Brown(Pamela) & Charles Boles of Williamston, North Carolina, Tyrone ( Nicole) Boles of Panama, Florida, Darius(Felicia) Boles of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Morris (Debbie) Boles of New Jersey and  a host of other relatives and friends.
